I leave my camera on Auto White Balance as it does a pretty good job of getting it right. For ISO I try and keep it as low as possible, so 100 if possible, this ensures the best quality image, but if I need to go to 200 or 400 I will. Any more and I get a lot of noise in the picture.

Thanks for sharing. It really helps a new photographer like me to understand the process of getting a good shot. How do you deal with ISO and white balance when shooting?

This image is fantastic and thanks for the explaination. It's cool to see how dramatic the change is with some simple effects. I think you made the perfect choice, the black and white really captures the emotion.

Although my camera is not digital, in reading all of your posts, I am finding out so much that I know will be very helpful. I plan my first photographs to be of the cows just down the road, so, the details about the aperture settings, light, shutter speed, etc have made me feel a little less apprehensive about taking some shots. Great photograph by the way!

I had my ISO set to 200. Ideally I would have liked to go higher to get a faster shutter speed, but on my camera, anything above 200 can be a bit noisy so I took the chance with 200.
