For ISO I try and keep it as low as possible, so 100 if possible, this ensures the best quality image, but if I need to go to 200 or 400 I will. Any more and I get a lot of noise in the picture.

I leave my camera on Auto White Balance as it does a pretty good job of getting it right. It really helps a new photographer like me to understand the process of getting a good shot. How do you deal with ISO and white balance when shooting?

Thanks for sharing. It's cool to see how dramatic the change is with some simple effects. I think you made the perfect choice, the black and white really captures the emotion.

This image is fantastic and thanks for the explaination. I plan my first photographs to be of the cows just down the road, so, the details about the aperture settings, light, shutter speed, etc have made me feel a little less apprehensive about taking some shots. Great photograph by the way!

Although my camera is not digital, in reading all of your posts, I am finding out so much that I know will be very helpful. Ideally I would have liked to go higher to get a faster shutter speed, but on my camera, anything above 200 can be a bit noisy so I took the chance with 200.

I had my ISO set to 200.
